Update - Change of Program: "Celebrate IT" Ceremony on May 10, 2023

We cordially invite you to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Horst Görtz Institut for IT Security as well as the founding of the Faculty of Computer Science at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum with us on May 10, 2023. The ceremony "Celebrate IT" will take place from 3:30 pm in the Convention Center of the Ruhr-University. Mona Neubaur, Deputy Minister-President of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Svea Eckert, investigative journalist of the NDR, will be speakers at the event, as well as others.

We offer an interesting and entertaining program with a party at the end of the event:

  • From 15.30 Registration
  • 16.00 Welcome address by Martin Paul, Rector Ruhr-Universität Bochum
  • 16.10 Video statement by Thomas Eiskirch, Mayor of the City of Bochum
  • 16.15 Panel discussion: 20 years of HGI and the founding of the Faculty of Computer Science, Moderation: Christina Reinhardt (Chancellor Ruhr-Universität). With: Tim Güneysu (HGI Speaker), Alena Naiakshina (Junior Professor HGI), M. Angela Sasse (Speaker CASA), Christof Paar (MPI-SP Founding Director) and Laurenz Wiskott, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science
  • 16.50 Welcome address by Mona Neubaur, Deputy Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia, Minister for Economics, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy (NRW)
  • 17.00 Refreshment Break with music by Joker Quartett
  • 17.15 Keynote by Svea Eckert, investigative journalist (a.o. NDR)
  • From 18.00 Get-together with music accompaniment by Joker Quartett to be followed by a party with DJ Christian Vorbau (1Live, among others).

Food and beverages will of course be provided during the event.
