Susanne Dehmel, member of the management board of the industry association Bitkom e.V., has joined the Board of Trustees of the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security (HGI). The Board advises the HGI on research direction and strategy and now comprises eleven high-ranking representatives from industry, politics, administration and academia.
The Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security is looking forward to the enrichment of the expertise of Susanne Dehmel. HGI spokesman Tim Güneysu says: "We welcome Susanne Dehmel as a new member of the HGI and look forward to good impulses in the board of trustees".
Profile of Susanne Dehmel:
Susanne Dehmel studied law in Passau, Freiburg and Cardiff and has been working at BITKOM e.V. since 2002, where she became part of the management board in 2014. In the 2017 to 2021 term of the German Bundestag, she was an expert on the Commission "Artificial Intelligence - Social Responsibility and Economic, Social and Ecological Potential." She is also deputy chairwoman of the association "Selbstregulierung Informationswirtschaft e.V. (SRIW)" and a member of the Digital Advisory Board of the Federation of German Consumer Organisations. She is also active on the Data Privacy Advisory Board of Deutsche Telekom, the Scientific Advisory Board of the Zeitschrift für Datenschutz, and Deutschland sicher im Netz e.V. Her work is dedicated to promoting trust and security in the digital world and, in particular, the practical further development of the legal framework for the digital economy and society.
