Open Position: Student Assistant (m/f/d) in the Field of PR and Marketing Wanted

For the Horst-Görtz-Institute for IT-Security we are looking for a part-time (8 hrs/week) student assistant to support our PR and Marketing Team.

The Research Department Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security (RD HGI) is considered one of the leading research institutions, has Europe's largest training programme for IT security, has extensive networks in science and practice and has produced numerous successful start-ups in the field of cyber security. The Cluster of Excellence CASA is based at the HGI. This outstanding environment offers excellent working conditions in an extremely current and exciting subject area. For the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security of the Head Office and the Cluster of Excellence at the Faculty of Computer Science, we are looking for a Student Assistant in the area of Marketing and PR starting as soon as possible, initially on a part-time basis (8 hrs. or more/week).

Employment type: part-time
Duration: 6 months
Start: next possible date

Your tasks:

  • Support in the management of the websites and social media channels (incl. monitoring and evaluation).
  • Editorial support in the creation of scientific text drafts for the various communication channels
  • Collaboration in the event management of scientific event and the conceptualisation of subsequent evaluation
  • Data management and maintenance
  • Administrative tasks
  • If necessary, graphical activities (editing: photo, film)

Your profile:

  • Field of study: communication or media studies, German studies, philology, social sciences, humanities or comparable field of study
  • Very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of English
  • Experience in the editorial field is an advantage
  • Knowledge of content management systems (e.g. Typo 3) advantageous
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Acrobat) advantageous
  • Ability to work in a team and independent, committed way of working

The employment is as a student assistant and is based on § 6 Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).

The hourly rate is 12.10 € (SHK) if the advertised requirements are met.
