State government and EU support eurobits

In the context of the call "Regio.NRW - Innovation and Transfer"...

In the context of the call "Regio.NRW - Innovation and Transfer", 36 projects were recommended for funding at the end of February. The aim of the funding is to raise innovation potential and strengthen the quality of the location.

One of the selected projects was submitted by eurobits, European Competence Center for IT Security, Bochum. The project promotes sustainable industry development in the field of IT security by initiating research and development cooperations, as well as through public relations work and the support of continuous start-up activities in the Ruhr area.
The project can build on the successful IT security infrastructure in Bochum and the surrounding area. With around 200 researchers, 1200 students at the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security, the founding incubator Cube 5 and numerous successful start-ups and companies etc., the area has already grown massively in recent years.

Support in digitalisation and transfer

The funding "Regio.NRW - Innovation and Transfer" supports small and medium-sized enterprises with around 45 million euros in digitisation, in the transfer from universities to companies through scoutings or strengthens the start-up culture in rural regions.

The relevant applications can now be submitted to the relevant district governments. After submission, two eurobits employees are to be hired through the funding.
