In January, the research college SecHuman started its second funding phase for 3.5 years. This will be celebrated with a multifaceted online event. Richard Clayton, Security Researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge, will give a keynote speech on "Some challenges of cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary research". In addition, the event will provide a variety of insights into the interdisciplinary tandems of previous and, above all, new research projects.
While the focus in the first funding period was on the interaction between humans and IT security, the tandems in the second funding period are now focusing on IT security as a social phenomenon. The projects are conducted in cooperation with different partners, such as the Federal Criminal Police Office, GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, the Stiftung Datenschutz, and Eco, the Internet Industry Association.
The research college SecHuman, short for "Brave New World: Security for Humans in Cyberspace", is located at the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security and integrated into the Cluster of Excellence CASA - Cybersecurity in the Age of Large-Scale Attackers. In addition to the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, the Technische Universität Dortmund and the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts are also involved in SecHuman.
Registration for the exciting kick-off is open until April 26, 2021: https://registration.crypto.rub.de/conf/SecHumanKickoff/
