Successful collaboration proceeds apace: leading cybersecurity experts gathered in Darmstadt on 17 October 2017 for the ICRI-CARS launch party. Attendees were warmly welcomed by the director of the CARS Lab at the TU Darmstadt, Prof. Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi, who is also a member of CYSEC at the university. This was followed by talks on critical issues related to cybersecurity by internationally recognised experts in the field. Representing the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security (HGI) at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Prof. Dr. Christof Paar (Managing Director of the HGI and Chair for Embedded Security), Prof. Dr. Thorsten Holz (HGI researcher and Chair for Systems Security) and Prof. Dr. Tim Güneysu (HGI researcher and Chair for Security Engineering) used the opportunity to speak about “Embedded Systems Security Research”.
With this new institute for "Collaborative Autonomous & Resilient Systems" (CARS), Intel Lab is taking the next step in its ongoing research collaboration with TU Darmstadt and four additional partner universities: Aalto University (Finland), Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany), the University of Luxemburg (Luxemburg) and TU Wien (Austria). They will continue to work together closely as part of the new institute for "Collaborative Autonomous & Resilient Systems" (CARS), which follows on the success of the Intel Collaborative Research Institute for Secure Computing in Darmstadt (2012-2017).
