eurobits Security Summit 2021

The European Competence Centre for Security in Information Technology, eurobits e.V., is organising the eurobits Security Summit 2021 from 04 to 07 October.

The Ruhr region has established itself as an important location for IT security over the last 20 years. Actors from science, business, users, the IT security industry, start-ups and public clients as well as politics are connected as a network and located in the Ruhr region.

In order to connect the individual players and companies even more closely, eurobits e.V. is organising various events for business, local authorities and municipal companies as well as for the healthcare industry as part of the eurobits Security Summit 2021 in the period from 04 - 07 October.

The eurobits Security Summit 2021 will begin on 4 October with the eurobits Security Convent 2021, which will offer a wide range of panels on current IT security topics for those interested in ITS from the fields of business, politics and science. The event will take place at the Centre for IT Security (ZITS) in Bochum and will also be broadcast live. The welcome will be given by Christine Skropke and the opening by Andreas Pinkwart, Minister for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of the State of NRW and patron of the eurobits Security Summit 2021.

The eurobits Startup Pitch will take place as an online-only event, where selected start-ups can present their innovative business ideas to a high-ranking jury of investors and potential partners and at the same time qualify for the final of the ECSO Startup Award 2021. Christof Paar will sit on the jury alongside other experts. The event can be followed online via Matchmaker Ruhr.

Another item on the programme is the IT Security in Hospitals and Healthcare conference on 5 October, at which the current state of IT security in hospitals will be discussed. The event is aimed at those responsible for IT and IT security in hospitals and other healthcare institutions and will be held exclusively at ZITS.

On 7 October, the Municipal IT Security Conference will take place as part of the eurobits Security Summit 2021. At the invitation of the district president of the administrative district, Arnsberg Vogel, eurobits will offer an exchange of information for mayors, executives as well as municipal companies and operators of critical infrastructures in the administrative district.

Afterwards, the eurobits Excellence Award will be presented. The four finalists of the competition, students from the field of IT security, will present the results of their theses in a web conference. A jury consisting of eurobits members and experienced scientists will select the strongest work.
