Prof. Christof Paar has been named a fellow of the IACR, the international association for cryptographers. This honour is in recognition of his exemplary work related to the implementation of cryptographic processes and his role in establishing the CHES conference. CHES (Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems) was founded in 1999 by Prof. Paar and is the second largest global cryptography conference in existence today.

Besides Prof. Paar, only one other German has received the distinction of being named a IACR fellow.
