a-i3/BSI Symposium with lectures by numerous HGI scientists

On November 25 and 26, 2020, the 15th interdisciplinary symposium of the working group Identity Protection on the Internet (a-i3) will take place.

On November 25 and 26, 2020, the 15th interdisciplinary symposium of the working group Identity Protection on the Internet (a-i3) will take place under the main topic IT Security in IoT, Blockchain and AI in cooperation with the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).

Due to ongoing contact restrictions, the symposium will be held as an online event this year. Registration and further information is available at sekretariat@a-i3.org.

Questions of IT security are more explosive than ever before: Attacks on networked systems of Industry 4.0 can - as the recent case of a hacker attack on rescue infrastructure shows - pose a real threat to human life. But which precautions should be taken by whom, which are technically possible? Comparable questions can also be encountered in connection with block chain technologies: What exactly does IT security in public or private block chains mean? And: Who is responsible for IT security if a data storage is organized decentrally? Finally, artificial intelligence (AI) poses enormous challenges to society, technology and law. Aspects of IT security of AI are closely interwoven with core questions of reliability, trustworthiness and responsibility of or for intelligent systems.

The relationship of these technical phenomena to legal issues in the fields of data protection, security and liability are - as always - an integral part of the symposium.
