Register now: The eurobits Security Summit starting soon. November 2020

A highlight of this year is imminent for students, companies and investors from all over Europe: the eurobits Security Summit 2020 will take place from November 30th until December 4th. In these days an international audience from the IT security sector will come together in an online event format for lectures, panel discussions, pitches, the presentation of the eurobits Excellence Award and a job fair – and all interested parties can take part in these highlights free of charge.

The eurobits Security Summit 2020 takes place under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
ECSO Cyber Investor Days is a cybersecurity business matchmaking event series of the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO).

ECSO has been founded as a contractual public-private-partnership with the European Commission on cybersecurity. The aim of this event series is to increase the market visibility of the European cybersecurity companies and thus foster and strengthen the European cybersecurity market. The initiative has been designed to cover different investment phases – ranging from seeding to strategic investment, to M&A – and to provide market access support for young companies.

The eighth edition of this event series will be carried out together by ECSO and eurobits e.V. in a mere digital format. In this year, the previous successful event format IT Security Pitch Day will be integrated into the ECSO Cyber Investor Days.

November 30th (Monday) – eurobits / ECSO Cyber Investor Days, Day 1

On this day, international investors and European players from IT security will meet to discuss the challenges and perspectives of the industry. Followed by a welcome note from Minister Prof. Pinkwart from North Rhine-Westphalia, high-ranking speakers will take part in a panel discussion, for example Miguel Gonzalez-Sancho, Head of Cybersecurity, Technology & Capacity Building, DG Connect, EU Commission.

For the first time, the RAG-Stiftung (the foundation of the RAG Aktiengesellschaft which bears the responsibility for financing the perpetual obligations resulting from hard coal mining in Germany) and the German Start-ups Association will present the results of a study on how cybersecurity start-ups are protecting our future digital infrastructure. The focus of this consideration is explicitly on the Ruhr area.

Anyone who would like to participate actively in the conference and discuss with the other participants after the presentations can register here. Press representatives who want to register for the presentation of the study of the RAG-Stiftung can send an e-mail with the subject “Press Registration” to event(at)eurobits.de – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (in English).

December 1st (Tuesday) – eurobits / ECSO Cyber Investor Days, Day 2

On this day, 13 european start-ups have the opportunity to present their innovative business idea in a short pitch in front of a high-ranking jury of investors. The winner receives a lucrative prize donated by the Bochum-Wirtschaftsentwicklung (economic development of the city of Bochum).

The two best start-ups will also receive an invitation to the finals of the international ECSO StartUp Days in Brussels next year. Martin Übelhör, Head of Sector Cybersecurity Industry and Innovation of DG Connect, EU Commission, could be won as a keynote-speaker for this exclusive pitch event – 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (in English).

December 4th (Friday) – eurobits Excellence Award

Four students from the IT security department present the results of their final theses. A jury made up of eurobits members and experienced scientists is going to award the best thesis – 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m (in German).
