Cybersecurity impacts nearly every aspect of our lives today, including communication, health, and the economy. To make this vital research accessible to everyone, CASA is hosting a unique exhibition for the nationwide Digitaltag (Digital Day) on June 25 & 26, 2026.
While the underlying research on encryption and system vulnerabilities is often complex, CASA uses science comics to make these topics easy to understand. Visitors can explore real-world issues like side-channel attacks and future security challenges through engaging stories. Follow Paul the Beaver as he investigates a potential cyber-attack or join Whitfield the Fox on a journey through modern cryptography.
Digital Day is a nationwide event that brings people together to make digitalization tangible. On this day, there are many exciting events and activities that explain digital topics in a simple and understandable way. Anyone can participate for free to learn more about digital technologies and try them out. Digital Day aims to promote digital participation and bring people together. This year’s Digital Day is themed “Digital Security: Understand. Communicate. Trust.”
In Bochum, this day marks the highlight of the first Bochum Digital Week, which will take place from June 22 to 26, 2026. Together with more than 15 partners, the city is offering a diverse program this week that invites residents to learn about digital technologies such as AI tools and VR applications and to engage in discussions on topics like digital security and digital inclusion.
