On January 13 at 7:30 p.m., IT security experts from the CASA Cluster of Excellence at the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security and the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy will reveal the invisible dangers of the internet. In the fourth edition of the event series, our researchers will be guests at the Bochum bar “Goldkante” to provide exclusive insights into current topics in Bochum's cybersecurity research—in a way that is understandable to laypeople and in a relaxed bar atmosphere.
This time, the focus lies on the following questions:
- “Only the Others Get Hacked: Myths in Cybersecurity” by Jens Opdenbusch (RUB)
- "VPNs – Knights in Shining Armor or Marketing Magic?" by Felix Reichmann (RUB)
- "Sharing is Caring? Cyberattacks in the Cloud" by Jana Hofmann (MPI-SP)
Whether you're an IT nerd or a casual internet user: we invite anyone who's interested to bring their own questions and experience their own personal eye-opening moments.
General note: In case of using gender-assigning attributes we include all those who consider themselves in this gender regardless of their own biological sex.
