Next Wednesday, March 13th, Professor Eike Kiltz from Ruhr-University Bochum (RUB) will be honored with the prestigious Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize. The award ceremony will take place in Berlin.

Post-quantum cryptography is a crucial aspect of cybersecurity, particularly as the application of quantum computers approaches, posing a threat to current encryption methods that safeguard our digital data.

The Berlin award ceremony will be live-streamed on Wednesday, March 13th, from 4 PM (GMT+1) on the DFG YouTube channel (Link: https://www.youtube.com/@DFGbewegt).

Event: CyBARsecurity on March 14th

For an insider's look into the fascinating world of post-quantum cryptography, we cordially invite you to participate in the "CyBARsecurity" event on Thursday, March 14th at 7 PM (GMT+1) in the relaxed bar atmosphere of the 'Trinkhalle Bochum'.

Phillip Gajland, a doctoral student of Professor Kiltz's group, will explain how the latest cryptographic techniques can shield us from potential threats by quantum computers.

Following the Science Talks, we look forward to engaging discussions and exchanging ideas about Bochum's IT security research with scientists from the Cluster of Excellence CASA and the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security.
